The Christ, The Human Face \\ Christ walking on the sea of Galilee saving His Disciples

Fresco in the Transfiguration Church at the Greek Orthodox monastery of Mount Thavor. This church was built in 1862, as the four preexisting churches and establishments of the byzantine period were destroyed in 1212.
The double appearance of the Christ is due to the double direction of His help, to the Disciples in the ship and to the drowning Peter, signifying the fullness of His omnipresence.
